Some of the clear coat on my hood and roof is peeling so I’m gonna have a friend redo it for me. Does the old clear have to be stripped completely or can fresh clear just be sprayed over the old? I think theres 2 or 3 coats of clear on the car now and it looks like its just the top layer of it that’s coming off.

 

If your friend doesn't know how to properly prep it, I would NOT let him respray it.



Wet sand the old top layers off before applying more clear coat.
