Carbon Fiber Fenders
Hey I was browsing for a set of fenders since mine are messed up from rust and I found a set of "OEM Carbon Fiber" ones.
I was wondering if anyone has seen these before or has heard of them?

Interesting. I think FlyRyde tried to get these made not too long ago for the RD community.
Couple of things to think about though:
1. I bet they're not true 100% CF. They're more than likely fiberglass and CF, which means they wont really be too much lighter than stock OEM fenders. If anything, you may be shedding only a couple of pounds each with those in the auction.
2. More than anything...they probably fit like upyourass.gif and there will be some gaps to deal with
3. $450 is pretty expensive for them. You're better off getting a CF hatch from the group buy happening here.

Well like I said, I need to get new fenders since rust and rot have killed mine. I'm in the market for fenders, not carbon fiber, the carbon fiber was just an added bonus.

It you look at the pics that's for sure FG with carbon. $450 is not bad for 100% carbon fenders, but these? No way. A few years ago I paid just under 800 shipped for some shipped from GT Racing.
Like Visionz said, fitment might be a pain though if you go cheap. Imho, unless you are buying from a renowned source it's bets to avoid cf/fg remakes.

An OEM fender skin probably weighs well under 10 pounds. CF looks cool but I doubt there is more weight savings than skipping lunch.

Unless there made by the Manufacturer of the car itself, there not true OEM. OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer, meaning there original parts for the car made by the same manufacturer. Not saying "OEM" tagged parts arent good parts or there Manus are bad, i'm just clarifying the terminology.
