When I bought my car, the previous owner just kept the insurance money when someone keyed the tib. Now I`m stuck with it. Her husband knocked of 2 grand of the price of the car so I was willing to deal with it. The paint job on the whole car is pretty sad but does anyone have some advice on getting rid or at least hiding this?

The funny (i guess) thing about it is that the person keyed the wrong car. This other girl, the one that keyed my car, meant to key someone elses car but got the wrong one. 02.gif

Smack dab in the middle of the drivers side door. The whole "word" is prolly about a foot long and about the same high.

That's just sad that some people would resort to this. This isn't just a harmless little prank, it can cost a fortune to fix these scrathes. And how the hell do you key the wrong freaking car!? If you aren't 100% sure the thing you are destroying belongs to the right person, don't touch it >.<

Consider yourself lucky. I have several long key scratches, all the way from the corner lights to the tail lights. And they aren't small ones either. Most of them are beginning to rust on the deep parts. I also have two dents by the antennae. I was told I'm better off painting most of car because the damage includes the front and rear fenders and both doors. But since they are from two separate incidents, my insurance won't cover them. (Cost to fix each side is below the deductable)
man as long as there no dents from the key, why dont you just do it yourself.
there are a ton of free do it yourselfs on the web on auto painting.
if you buy the stuff yourself, you might pay about 100 bux on sand paper, and primer, probably less.
then take it to a painter if you cant paint it. but normally a body shop charges about 100 a panel to paint cheaply, but good.
