Brake Light LED's
Hey i was looking through a magazine when i came across a pair a catz hot spot super red led's. It doesnt give a description but are these the same lights that kind of rotate and turn. They have a 3157superbright, 1157RedLED, adn 1156stoptailturn. Can anyone tell me if im correct in identifying these lights and if i am will any of these work in a 2000 tibby.
Yeah..I'm looking for a new LED strip too. I had like 4 LED's burn out in mine, and the dealer wouldn't fix it. They said only if teh car was still under 12,000 miles or whatever. So, because it looked all ghetto, I disconnected it. But if anyone knows where I could get a new one, or if the ones that SupraMax was talking about, will work..it would be alot of help.
Many thanx!

I believe that the LED arrays SupraMax is talking about will replace the filament bulbs in your lower two taillight arrays. A lot of public-transportation buses and construction trucks have started using these as replacements when their older bulbs burn out, because they're supposed to last longer and draw less current. The aftermarket scene carries them because they're different. Run a search on JCWhitney.com for "bulbs" and you'll see them in the search results.
I haven't seen any replacement LED arrays for the third brake light array on the underside of the spoiler. Lo, have you tried taking it apart any to see if maybe the out LEDs are maybe just loose?

Iago...the LED strip I have is the one that's built into the hatch. Not the spoiler. When I bought my car..I knew that I was going to be adding an aftermarket spoiler to it....so I opted out on getting a Tib with the factory one.
I did take it apart and checked it out. They weren't loose or anything. Just burnt out, I guess. It just sucks because I have the nice bumper2bumper waranty, and it doesn't even cover lights. Lights are only covered within the first 12,000 miles. Well..the LED strip is anyway. rolleyes.gif

Low&Show.
Try your local junkyard. Call around and see if anyone has a 2000 Tibby. Since co-part finder started charging...looking for parts has become a challenge again!

Right here. Question was addressed. The bulb sizes he's listing are replacements for the regular filament bulbs that come in your lower two brake lights, NOT the third brakelight LED strip.

I dunno about the 2000 tibbies, but on my 1999 FX spoiler and my 1999 "Shark" spoiler, the LED's are no seperate. You would have to destroy the houseing to get to the individual lights.
