Bike racks…why?

If you never use the intended purpose of racks on the roof of your car, then why have one? Import owners love to put racks on their cars for the sole purpose of having it there. Makes no sense.

I know people who use them fairly frequently, for BMX or mountain biking transport. Others just want it as a showoff accessory. Not a fan myself.
