saw this RD2 tonight at the mall in Manhattan, Ks. Now the body was in rather excellent condition but i nearly had a heart attack when i was walking around the car to get to mine. the ones i just refurbished on my gf's car were about half this bad. at night with her, with the lows on you could possibly see 30ft. in front of the car. i wonder just how far this d0od can see....safely,lol!!!

yeah, i feel sorry for the kid. i am thinking about offering my services to polish them but i would hate for all the stuffed animals on the inside of the car to be blind after i got done, lmao.
with that much oxidation, i would probably have to start 400 grit then work up to 2500 grit, then finally 4 full pads of 0000 steel wool. in the end, a WHOLE damn bottle of Mequiar's "Plast-X"

drop the bumper, it would give you more room to work. Sand paper would be good, but I'd probly start with a green scrubby to get rid of alot of the junk. You can stop at 1,500 grit or 2,000 grit sand paper, then switch over to rubbing compound and polishing compound. I polish plastic with rubbing compound when it gets bad or after sanding. It's easier then sanding it. I use plastic polish as a finishing touch.

I read this
and I gave my input.
I don't get it. Are you thinking about helping him or not?
I restore my friends headlamps when they get bad. Most of my friends are not "car guys", but I like to help.
