Well i don't know if it means anything, but my driver's side bulb went out yesterday and the other side went out today...i put them in at different times also so they arn't the same age....i had to drive home with my brights on tonight, people weren't too happy about that....anyway its kinda weird that they would go out that close to each other being different ages and all....i don't know...later

Sorry, didn't mean to start anything. I just replaced my factory bulbs with some blue ones so let's see what happens in the next few weeks. Again, didn't mean to curse everyone. frown

No hard feelings MyTibby... wink
I just ordered a set of heavy duty wire harnesses last nite, Koreandude may be on to something. anyone else have them? did you have to mod the cover behind the bulb to fit the harness? it looks like the plug is thicker. just pm me if you think this is off-topic. thanks!

i had the same problem. tell me....IT STINKS!!! within a year i had to replace my headlights 3 TIMES! it seamed to always be my passenger side that went out though. Maybe the wiring just gets too hott and blows the bulb? who knows....but i have noticed that since i got HID's...*knock on wood* they haven't gone out yet! and i've had them in for almost a year now! *gets down on knees* thank god for HID's! LOL

Random:
The only way to prevent this from happening is to not turn the headlights on until after the idle stabalizes (15 seconds after starting the car), and always make sure to turn the headlights off before shutting the engine off.
I am all for this because I've seen my driver side blow twice now (within the past 3 weeks) as soon as I start my car and turn them on!!

I think anyone getting aftermarket bulbs running even 5 more watts than stock should get upgraded harnesses. I know i should've done it a LOOOONG time ago but oh well, you live 'n learn. I haven't had any problems since i installed them (still running my original set of nokya bulbs since the upgrade). I didn't have to modify anything with these Nokya heavy duty headlight harnesses. I just cut off the then melted stock harness and wired in the Nokya harness. The Nokya harness had thicker gauged wire and the harness itself was made of a high-temp plastic (unlike the 50 billion AutoZone brand ones i went through doh). It's been 6 months since the upgrade and the harness/bulb connection hasn't mutated into some black blob. Great stuff!!

replaced my bulbs with blue bulbs 100 watters at about 10000 miles and they went out in a month, so I switched back to stock bulbs and they went out a month after that, both sides within a few days,
replaced driver side again at 40000 cause it wouldnt turn on when I hit the switch unless I banged on the lens, lol, I thought it was a connection, until it finally burnt out after a week of bangin on it to get it to come on,
so far so good but definetley I would get a thicker harness for any bulb above the stock wattage which is what 110???? or 100??

But I think havin an amp that makes the lights strain under heavy bass is a leading factor in burnouts, but then again VIPER966 said he had no electrical mods, hmmmm. whatever for the amount of complements I get on the bulbs shiny effect i would change them twice a year if i had to.
uh, suicide

I'd hate to bring up an old topic, but I just had a bulb go out again tonight, but the good news is I know why this time. This was actually my factory bulb that I had put back into my car after my blue bulbs went out. I was sitting in my car with the lights on and car running, and I just wasn't paying enough attention, and I shut the car off before turning the lights off. I know that the bulb wasn't out before that cause I could see the reflection of both lights on the car in front of me before I shut off my car. I turn the lights on again, and sure enough, a bulb was out. So just watch out for that!

I experianced the same thing the last time mine went out i have replaced 3 bulbs 2 pass side one driver. 01 tib. and always use stock wattage bulb. i turned off the car shut of the lights next time i went out bang no lights. its still no excuse of the lights going out they need to do a recall on this..
