Default Am I doing it right?

I just waxed my Genesis using basic $5.99 Turtle Wax. It said to apply with damp applicator and allow to dry to haze, then wipe off.

I did just that. It was A LOT of elbow grease to get all the wax off.

With another product I used before (I don't remember what it was), it was applied in a similar manner and it wiped off easily.

Did I use too much, too little; let it dry too much or not enough?

Turtle wax is a good wax and it is very hard to get off. Which means you are putting a good coat of wax on. you don't want to apply the wax on super thick just a good amount. I just waxed my car a month ago and it took me 20 min just to remove it on one side after putting it on. I like to use two towels one to remove the stuff you can see and than another to really get it off, it makes it much easier.

Do small sections at a time and use lots of towels.
