i know that you can put the headlights in the oven to melt the glue to take the cover off. i didn't want to do that with my altezza's because at the moment they're all i have. so i turned on one of my stove burners to high and just held the area where the lense meets the body of the taillight over the heat. this kind of worked because it melted the glue slightly, but it apparently the lense/body are not thick enough to withstand the heat and they also got soft. since the plastic was getting soft too, i stopped what i was doing.

btw...all this is because i have a pretty good amount of moisture inside my tails. i drilled some small holes in the bottom of the body and help vent, but i don't think that will be enough.

to prevent moisture, you want to make sure it's completely sealed, not vented. Dry them out, then use silicone to make sure everything is sealed.

DTN took the cover off of his tails I believe. You need to use a heat gun or something similar to direct the heat onto the part you want. You don't want to bake them, because I think the reflective pieces inside the tails will mess up.

If you bake them the lens will sag. For whatever reason they are not as strong as the headlight lenses and get very soft. I would try a heat gun.
