Default About orange peel ....

I have a question about a common problem with factory paint jobs. Orange peel .... anyways will orange peel get worse as the factory paint job ages? Or if it does get worse does that indicate a problem with the factory paint job that needs to be taken care of?

I haven't had any peeling persay with my paint...but there is one small area where it seems like the clearcoat has come off, and it's just the dull paint beneath... Any suggestions for a quick fix without getting a new paint job? I've tried all kinds of wax, and nothing blends the shine of the rest of the paint to this one matte area.

Orange peel can't get worse..it's just the quick and easy process of mass painting cars that causes it. I'm slowly..as I find time..wetsanding my car with 1500-2000 grit sandpaper and then buffing it out. The whole drivers side is basically done..just some touch-up left.

The mirror shine afterwards is unbelievable. Two things you have to be carefull with is not sanding it too much or you'll sand right through to the primer and don't burn the paint with the buffer (which is sorta hard to do).

Orange peel is where the paint resembles the skin on an Orange. You cant really feel it but you can see it. THo what I am seeing looks like orange peel it is getting worse I have noticed.
