Hello all. I have a 99 tiburin which I just recently aquired with 174,000kms. Unfortunately the Ontario road salt hasn't been very nice to it. I have been looking and looking for some way of repairing the rear quarter panels above the wheels. I can't find anywhere that sells panel sections and haven't had any luck with wrecking yards. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would really like to do this myself without a bodyshop. Thanks for your time.

I agree with mwood, we cant be of much help without seeing the damage.

If it's not too bad you can probably fix it with fiberglass, if it's real bad, there are always people on here parting cars out, you could probably talk them into cutting the parts of the panel you need and shipping them to you.

^^^ good luck with that. 90% of the people on here don't have the tools needed nor the experience to tackle that kind of work. i for one would use a junkyard if you find a tib in there, good luck.

i have a passenger side quarter that could be used as a patch and possibly a drivers side depending on whats needed. hyunshark21 has recieved both sides from me before and may not want or need them anymore so you may want to contact him as well.

If its surface rust, usually just sanding and fiberglassing will work. But if its deeper than the surface (which most cases it is), then you'll have to cut the area out, weld in new sheetmetal, and go from there, or find a whole panel itself....which can be quite the pain.

I have the exact same problem on my 98 Tiburon: right above the wheel well is just rotted away by rust... and it's the same on all the other SE's I see around here.
