4" Shorty Antenna Home Made

Well when I saw the Shorty antenna I thought I could make that ,so I did.Its aluminium ,18mm in diameter at the base tapering 20mm up to 10mm in diameter by 100mm in length.I used a m8 brass threaded rod to mount to the base to the car(note;the antenna mount on the car is a m7x1 metric thread,but I have a lathe so that was easy).I might rubber coat it in black or polish and clear coat it,I'm not to sure yet what I'm going to do.Here is a link to picture. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2259170/5

Yup toolmaker by trade how did you know!Took me about a half hour to do!I have to say it does look pretty nifty and no noticable radio loss.

i wish i could see it, im at school and cardomain is blocked...
u should get some "plasti dip" in clear or black (just google it)
i hope to someday have a machining job... only in school for now but i know cnc programming, can use lathes, mills, sandblast and weld cool.gif

Because I used to work at 3 different tool & die shops wink1.gif
I will show you what I made last week, my old man owns those shops so I have access to them.
