A 3 Question About The Weather Stripping
My black lining on the outside of the car, which i think is the weather stripping has white marks like someone scratched it on the stripping right by my windows. does anyone know how to fix this? another question is that the black lining on my rear window has random small dull spots all around. any ideas on how to fix that too? last thing is, i put a coat of wax on my car awhile ago and i must have not wiped off the Tiburon logo, so now the chrome is coming off. i know i have to get a new one, but any ideas on how to put it back on?? Thanks veryhappy.gif
Since you just waxed it, sure the white marks are not residue from the wax? Tried cleaning it?
As for the dull marks, those are from water sitting on the rubber for a while I believe, kind of like how you get water marks on your car's body panels. Unfortunately, they don't wipe off because its rubber and not paint with a clearcoat.
As for the emblem, double sided tape or some sort of glue.

Use Mother's Back-to-Black it's about $8 from AutoZone. Works beautifully, especially for getting the wax stuff off the stripping, and cleaning it up really nicely.
From Mother's site:

BACK-TO-BLACK®
As your ride's exterior ages, rubber, plastic and vinyl exterior hardware of all colors will dry, crack, flake and deteriorate. This oxidation can be stopped and reversed with Mothers® Back-to-Black®, our favorite auto-care concoction. This trim treatment is great for all sorts of exterior hardware in all colors-bumpers, molding, louvers, window trim, vents, seals, skirts, door handles, wiper arms-anything that's plastic, rubber or vinyl. Apply Back-to-Black® to sun-burnt plastic, rubber and vinyl to revive the factory-new sheen, then re-treat that exterior hardware regularly.

I've tried it on lightened parts like that and it doesn't really to a whole lot. It looks pretty good for a little bit, but then usually changes back to what it looked like before. I think it's meant for softer plastics like the weather stripping or the washer fluid nozzles and stuff like that.
