Default 2002 accent windsheild

-2002 hyundai accent 2dr-

how is the windshield installed?

the only kind i have ever messed with was on a 1974 nova and a 1971 mustang mach1. they had to be pressed into a frame and track and were a pain to replace.

the accent looks as though it is just set in and sealed with polyurethane.

You're dead right. They just smear a healthy coat of sikaflex around the metal behind the windscreen, and yam it into place.

I tried removing my LC windscreen by cutting the sealant with mig wire - I couldn't get it into the corners and ruined my hands in the process.

I watched mine get done, dude had a special lil tool that he used to separate the windshield from the car. He made it look easy but he was a pro cutting through the polyurethane like it was nothing. He got the windshield out without any real damage to the seal/gasket that goes around the glass so he reused it. He then laid down a fat bead and dropped the new window in place.

Gotcha. I figured this is gonna be above my patience level/time available. I've got a crack starting from center of windshield down to the bottom passenger corner. Its outta my line of sight but I will have to address this at some point.
