Sorry to bring this subject up again but I noticed that in team-sr website they are selling the kits for rd 1 and 2 tiburons. I thought there was a disscusion about a possible group buy on this but I saw that the post is locked. Does anyone have any informaton on the quality of the kit or has anyone seen it in person?

Just a few questions since I am looking to get this modification done this winter ...only choice will be this kit or a Decah kit custom fitted (yes it can be done and I have sen a tib with it...just more expensive)

We don't really know anything about it. The previous thread that was locked didn't have most of the quality issues answered or anything else for that matter.

I saw the kit on there yesterday. Guess someone will have to be a guniea pig for it.

With the track record of those companies though, do you think it's wise?

the 1997-2001 Tiburon are the same style doors, i think they could use the same kit... however a 2002 Tiburon doesnt exist

 

he was probably taking korea and other parts of the world into consideration...

he did say tiburon/turbulence

97-01 do have the same doors.. so if its 00-02 its also 97-99

Well due to the fact that there are no pictures of the auctual hinges it is hard to say what kind of quality they are......I have looked at a lot of different companys hinges for other cars and I have decided to go with a custom kit made from decah hinges...they are made from high grade materials and are way thicker and heavier duty than the others i have looked at including the Team-sr kits. Ya its gonna cost more money to custom fit a kit but the shop i am taking it to has done many custom jobs before with decah hinges so I am not worried....over all I want a high quality kit that is not going to get stress cracks from daily use .....Long story short , over the summer I saw a Civic at a outdoor car show with Auto-Loc Lambo hinges that snapped off with the door vertical beacuse a strong wind came up.....needless to say the guy was screwed, having his door laying on the ground and it being the car he drove there with....the Auto-Loc kit used cheep materials that could not hold up to the stress of a medium wind. Case in point I dont want my doors falling off.

 

Im not sure about this but isn't the kit from Gullwingdoors.com the one that jaws has or no?
