Hey all,
This might be a super noob question, but what would be the difference between 16's and 17's rims? I know that the 17's would be harder to turn and heavier, but is it that much of a difference?

17's are just bigger. They're usually a little wider as well. Many prefer 16" rims because you can put a bigger tire on the wheel, giving you much more ride quality. The bigger the rim, the smaller the tire you'll need, and the less ride quality you'd have.
Take a look at my car, if I had 16's it would look hideous! My 17's already look too small, so obviously I'm going for the look rather than the ride quality. Wish I could have both though. 02.gif
Oh, and by the way.... REDZ is going to require you get 16's lol.gif

Nah, I do like 17's, but the problem is lots of folks with 17's get rubber bands for tires. Your RUIN your ride, it'll be bumpy as hell, and 17's are guaranteed to be heavier than 16's of the same make. I've got some good looking 16's on my car with some decent thickness tires and my ride quality IMPROVED! They are also lighter than stock and I've got more performance out of it.
It's all what you are lookin for mang.

I sold my 17's and got 16's
17's - Rough ride, can bend easier, less tire to protect the rim.
Handle awesome, and have a "bling" factor, 17's are heavier,
robbing you of performance
16's - Smoother ride, more rubber to protect the rim, handling is
comparable if you get a good tire. 16's weigh less and therefore
you get better off the line performance.
you're choice dude

www.tiretrends.com check that site, great prices.
also, do research, check reviews, and reasearch more, I can't stress that enough. I bought my first set of rims (17's) on an impulse buy, and cheaped out on the rims and tires. I sold them, did tons of research and bought 16's with amazing rubber. It pays to shop around and get as much info as possible. Rims are a lot of money and a big investment. If you have any other questions, just ask or pm me.
