sup HA!
i'd looking at headers atm for my beta II LC. throughout my research, one piece of information keeps popping up: 4-2-1 headers give a wider spread of torque, lower in the rev range. 4-1s tend to move peak torque towards the higher rpm ranges. indeed, it is backed up by people with both types installed, confirming the fact.
wouldn't the torque distribution be determined by the actual dimensions of the header?
there are obviously physical restraints unique to each design, such as ground clearance issues from a low 4-1 collector. also, a 4-2-1 has two torque 'peaks' due to the three collectors ILO one. these aside, i don't see any reason not to have stubby 4-2-1 instead of a 4-1, or vice versa. i'd like to open up the top end, i'm not too concerned about a peaky car. i just see too many dinged up 4-1 collectors not to ask.
so i'd like to hear your input on that, and also post about the exhaust you are running/have run in the past. what parts, where you got them - more importantly, how they have changed your car and whether you are happy with the results. the storeman will just try and sell you things, i want to hear how YOUR parts are performing for you

I have the Evofusion 4-2-1 header.
I am happy with it. Mine was an early model and came with the wrong down pipe. Aside from that it's great, has held up great for about 5 years now, and IMO performs great.
With I/H/E 100whp, 109lb/ft of torque at the wheels.
If anything there is less torque below 1500rpm's than stock, but it ramps up nicely from there.
It is a fairly constant torque from 2500-5000rpm's. The double peak is either not really there, or not as noticeable as that looks.
