Default YES! I love junkyards!

I am trying to adapt my '85 V6 distributor to a pre '84 magnetic pickup coil style (non-computer) so as to remove the bloody ECU. It would cost me about $160 to convert it using new performance parts, and I would have to re-curve it myself. Boooo!

The guy at Canadian Tire said to go to a wreckers and you'll probably get the WHOLE distributor for like $30. I did. I got it for $20!! **** yeah! That's only because the guy liked what I was doing to my Pony. He said $40 first, then asked what it's for, and then said, "cool, i'd like to see that! Have it for $20" Wicked! The centrifugal advance needs re-curving, maybe i'l jsut pull it off my old distributor. I'm also thinking of placing a Moroso module in it, but now I can do that with the distributor inside my car.

Junkyards are heaven. When I die, I want to be cremated and have my ashes strewn in amongst the debris at my local wrecking yard. wink
Seriously, though, just looking around in a junkyard is fun.

You feel the same way?

Unfortundately (well actually fortunately in this case) the part was already removed. Half the fun is getting dirty while you remove the needed part!!

Also good practice for a whole-vehicle teardown

What's next?

-1987 Ford escort GT front and rear bumpers
-early '90's Z24 side skirts
-Motor mounts that will fit the V6
-Small block Chevy Flywheel + Bellhousing
-5 Speed manual Tranny

That enough?

How about a GM 5 speed that'll fit in the tranny cut out for the Pony. Hard to find, most likely total fabrication.

Sometimes I wish I could have a beater just like (but not nessesarily) Jed's. I won't give a damn if I would hack it up unlike with my Elantra.

Umm, it's not a beater. I get SUPER pissed when dents occur... and the car is in good shape. Of course, you would have to actually see the car to appreciate it... rolleyes.gif
