Ok, I've searched and searched and searched. Many people have succesfully installed the XD cam into their beta1. Who can tell me how to set the timing on that cam since now I know that you can't use the timing mark on the cam gear. I'll be pulling my head for a second time this week to see why the motor won't turn and I want to make sure everything is done right this time so I can finally drive my car.

Quick/correct help will be rewarded with a large thank you and honorable mention in my profile.

23 views and nobody?? I know some of you have done it succesfully.

Thanks Redz. As for the 1.8cam, I already have the XD so I'm determined to make it work.

I have the XD cam, there's no problem installing it. Same timing marking, I don't know why you say you can't use the markings?

Btw, make sure everything is aligned correctly, don't rely solely on the chain. In my engine, the chain skipped 3 links over the cam gears in ~90,000km. If you install the intake cam and time it only with the chain, you may be off timing with the exhaust cam and your engine won't start.

faithofadragon said that the timing marks are off on the XD cam. So I just have to alighn the mark as if it was the 2.0 or 1.8 cam??

I also had the XD cam, no problem installing it, no problem running it. I used the same marks as the beta1 cam.

I've never heard of any timing problems with that cam.

Ever.

That's like 5 years or so of info.

Anyways, it supposedly wears the valvetrain faster, but again, that's just what I've been told, but never proven. My RD1 has the XD cam in it, as I said, and runs great. Well, when it runs it runs great. LOL

Contact Cyscoo, like I said.
