wont stay on..
 

I have a x3 with a beta 1 in it. And I just ran in to a problem. The car cranks and when it turns over it wont stay on at all. I already changed the alternator....

is there gas in the car?

I've had the car out for a few weeks with no motor mount then I finally put it on yesterday and when I got done I started the car. And I got nothing just cranks. Now I tryed cam and crank sensers. And alternator. And battery. But when I tryed jumping the car. It acts fine it starts and stays on. Then when I take the cables off the car dies. I changes fuses ex alternator fuse im having trouble getting it out.... its so weird.

And yes there's a half tank of gas

Get down to your nearest auto parts store with the battery and alternator, and have them both tested for free.



Other than that, I think you may have neglected to hook up a ground (or power) wire somewhere, or maybe burned a fusible link.



If your charging system is not keeping up, there are relatively few things that can be bad. Check them all, carefully, including the wires. Try not to get frustrated, and remember these really are simple cars with simple problems.

Went to get my battery and alternator checked. And they were all working fine. Thinking about rewiring the whole car.

Check your fuel pump! Might need to replace.

If motor dies when you take the jumper cables off then the battery is dead. If the alternator is good then the fuse between it and the battery is blown.



Start the car and leave the jumper cables on, check the battery voltage, then take the jumper cables off while watching the voltage.



If you don't get 14V when the car is running the charging system is not working.

The voices tell me there is a fusible link in there somewhere, and at least one really big fuse. Check all the wiring in the charging system for continuity and grounding before REwiring anything.
