ok so my eventual goal is to go turbo, but in my current situation I cannot afford it. So my idea is to slowly accumulate parts until I can get them all put on. Now here is my question since I can't go turbo for awhile and flyride is no longer going to produce the header that I want, could I get a downpipe fabricated to work with a turbo manifold? Would this be a good idea? the reason I want to do this is I want a header but I don't want to shell out the money for something I'm going to replace in like a year.

You'll need the turbo manifold and turbo itself before you can get a downpipe made. Different manifolds sit the turbo differently, further from the block/closer, lower down, etc. Even the turbo itself will change the dimensions slightly.

If I were you, I would wait till I have money to buy and install them all together at the same time.

Guys, he wants to run a TURBO MANIFOLD as a NA HEADER with a fabricated downpipe to for for NA applications.

I think thats at least what he's asking.

And ya, sure you can. Probably wont do much for HP.

Yah you could do it if you really really wanted to, just weld a flange on the exhaust that mates the manifolds flange that is supposed to bolt on to the turbo, and run the exhaust back from there.

But itd be pointless, youd be better off buying it, and letting it sit in the closet till your ready to install the turbo.

actually it would be insanely easy. a muffler shop would charge about 70 bux to toss a set up together to run it. all you would need is to pick up a t3 flange, and a o2 bung.

but as everyone pointed out, why? most likely wont see any HP gains from it

Kcvortex, I'm in a similar boat to you. I'm just slowly collecting all the necassary parts, then bolting it all to a new engine when I'm ready.

Why not just stay with your standard header and keep you turbo manifold pristine till it's time to bolt up?

yeah man it is possible but deffiniatly not worth the it imo. there will be minimal to no hp gains with it setup like that. Best bet is, like everyone else said, just wait it out and do it all right at one time!

For 70 bucks, you can get a lot of little things for the turbo setup later man~!
