Where can you buy raw carbon fiber mat?

Where can you buy raw carbon fiber mat?
I want to try my hand at making a couple of small things, like a heat shield and maybe even an alternator cover, in carbon fiber. I can make the mold and lay down fiberglass, but I want to lay CF mat over it and then do a gel coat resin. I just have no idea where I could buy raw CF at. Anyone know?

good luck.... cf is a pain to work with.... we had to use a vacuume to get out all the air bubbles and to give it a nice smooth texture to it... oh and also make sure not to kink or move any of the strands... it will look like garbage if you do... treat that one piece of CF like a piece of gold lol
