what's with my governors?
Ok..I have no idea with's with them, but it seems like they don't work..I was playing with my friends and one of my friend was driving my car at the time (I was in passenger seat)..He misshift and the engine started to bounce..Also I noticed that I don't have speed governor either..Does anyone know way? Is that mean my car is a lemon? I hope it's not..

The the engine started to "bounce" that is the Rev-limiter. If you did not have it...you would have heard a high pictched whine increasing in tone, then a nasty crunching sound as the car jerked to a halt....
The car revs to the limiter, then the ECU cuts fuel/spark delivery...till 500 Below Limit, then starts them back up, which revs to the limiter...repeat cycle.... Hence the "bouncing" you heard/saw.
In regards to the speed limiter? I have no idea what the Canadian version is set to. The USA version is supposted to be set to 125, but Our Speedometers have an error factor of +or- 10%...so It could cut in at an indicated 112 MPH or an indicated 138 MPH...
If you have aftermarket gauges installed, your speedo could be off by even more than 10%.

I know it's there but.. my guage tells it's not.. I don't know how he did it , but all I know is that he shifted to 2nd intead of 4th and the rpm started to bounce and so was the guage needle..I have no idea how bad it was reving since I wasn't driving..as soon as I heard the noise, I looked at the guage the needle bouncing like crazy..so..I cannot tell you what the engine was reving at..

i have a accent 2k1 gs i.6 . i can only take it up to 6.5 before the rev limit comes in, but it just holdes it there it dosn't bounce. as far as the govenor goes, i don't know the fastest i've had my car was 115 in fourth gear, and i wasn't red lining it either.

I know what you're saying Random..But like you said.. once it hits the limit rpm should drop to 500-800 rpm..but mine did not (it stayed up there) until he shifted to 4th.. So..is that means the limiter's working?(sort of..)

Not drop TO 500-800 rpm...the revs should drop 500 to 800 RPM>
6750 - 800 RPM = 6000. So it should bounce between around 6000 to around 6750.

Your RPM's dropped before you took it to the dealer? ??? Why did you take it to the dealer? Why/when did your RPM's drop. Please try to provide as much information as possible.

When rpm gets near the 7000 rpm (not exactly 7000..somewhere near..) the engine goes blaaaa..(shut off everything in the engine I think..)and comes back to like at around somewhere near 1000 rpm..until I took it to a dealer..
I took her to a dealer because some as$hole broke in to my car couple of weeks ago...
