Default What should i check??

Guys give me your opinion please:
I want to buy a used 2.0 beta motor. Please tell me what should i check before i buy it.
Externally should i check for leaks or sth?
Secondly how should i know that the compression ratio is ok?
Furthermore anything else you can tell me would be helpful.
Random i know that you had bought an Elantra 2.0 beta. Can an Elantra beta fit my 98 tib?

betas are betas are betas.

Only thing to look out for is motor size. 1.6L vs 1.8L vs 2.0L. There is no way to externally distinguish a 1.8L from a 2.0L I believe the 1.6L does have a different external casting, and has 1.6L stamped on the block. the 1.8L and 2.0L have 1.8/2.0 stamped on the block.

Any place you buy it from should off you some form of warranty on the motor. If they don't...keep shoppin!

Oh...since you are in greece...they will ALL be MAP sensor for you, unless you import one from North America.

For a stock Normally aspirated motor..nope..nuthing to worry about. There has not been a bad beta built yet (one particular year/size motor with reoccuring problems). If you plan on turbocharging it...then you want to upgrade some stuff, but for replacing your 1.6L beta...no worries.
