Default What now?

K. I'm going for my next performance mod.
I've got a chrismas bonus comming, so what would you recommend I do next?
1.BBTB/Poslished IM?$300+$150(onpol)
2.4-2-1 headers and custom exhaust?(or 4-1)$?
3.Supercharger? $2300 ouch
4.TurboCharger? $3G+ ye-ouch
5.NOS? $400-$500 bucks?
If I get a supercharger(easier install), should I get the exhaust first? or the super
first?

anyone out there with a custom exhaust, and
headers give me a total price they paid?

Any other sugestions?
thankx

At the very least, I vote you do #1 + a cold air intake.

If you aren't sure if you want to turbo or not yet, then hold off on the headers until you decide. Otherwise they could turn into a wasted investment. Might want to hold off on the cat-back until you know for sure, as well, because odds are it will need to be a custom setup, and once again, it will save you the expense of having to rework anything to wait until after you have your plan finalized.

Oh, I forgot to mention, i currently have a CAI from MHP, but it gets a little warm, so i'm going to get some heatwrap for it when I clean my K&N.

My buddie, who is also a car enthusiast, says that I should do super/headers/cat.

Isn't that goinna be hella loud? can I get away with just a super and headers? Possibly
a bbtb? barney flavour wink.gif yumm wink.gif

If you budget is tight, I would do the BTB/BIM, headers and full exhaust. If you have scrilla left over...save it for the supercharger. That should get you about 15 to 20 HP to the wheels.

Heat wraping the CAI is a good idea, and you can always soak the heatwrap with water on the times when you want the intake as cold as possible.

The Nitrous will cost you more than $400 to $500 for a complete safe kit, unless you buy it used...and then you are guessing on condition of the parts.

If you intend to get a super charger, headers and exhaust are good, as is the BTB, the manifold you'll have to sell off since the super charger will replace it.

Nitrous you can find good deal on through Ebay. Exhaust can be done prtty cheaply at a local rice shop or muffler shop (Midas, Monroe, etc..) But before going with boost (turbo/SC) then make sure you have the basics down first. (I/H/E) Good luck! wink.gif

Nothing against Lo&Show, but I disagree with this minorly. If you KNOW that you're going to supercharge, as Brendan said, don't bother blowing money on a bored IM that's going to get replaced. Similarly, if you KNOW that you're going to turbocharge, don't bother blowing money on a header that is going to become a $400 paperweight.

Okay...if you are planning on a supercharger, all the mods will still work except the bored IM. Since there are ALWAYS people looking for those, I would not worry about it being a paperweight for long.

The BTB would work with the Supercharger, as would the headers and the full exhaust, but I would go with 2.5" exhaust. It might be a bit much for your N/A motor now, but the supercharger will make use of it.

sorry for sounding stupid here, but where do you find superchargers at. I just know of the turbo from Alpine. I didn't even know there was a supercharger made for the tibby.
