Basically, any modification that helps the engine breathe better.

Cold Air intake, bored THrottle Body, Bored intake manifold, header, larger exhaust, free flow cat and muffler.

These allow the engine to suck in either more air (more power) or be more efficent at part throttle, thus improving fuel economy.

A lightweight flywheel would also help, as would underdrive pullies.

A tuned piggyback should improve gas mileage at partial throttle

Anything that lies in the transmission is something you don't want to go cheap on. Fidanza is a reputable company and well worth the cash.

I guess this dosn't qualify as a mod, but I used to check my gas milage all the time and found out that one of the best things you can do to keep good gas milage is by changing the oil on regular intervals.

the faster your mods let you go, the more fuel you will suck up.

although, many companies like BMW use special techniques like precision to alter fuel economy. most 7 series have V8 300hp and they have the same fuel consumption as our 4 bangers.

all mods will get you paying more at the pumps. some more than others. our cars are quite ecomonig though, so it won't be that much of a difference.

also, if you hadn't noticed before, driving style ad trannies are a big thing. any heavy bursts of acceleration will just own you. you might as well drive like traffic gently. you also save your treads that way...

i drive like a maniac so i should know  02.gif

^^ Bolt-on mods (intake, header, etc.) will not hinder your gas mileage in any way, and in some cases actually improve gas mileage. tongue.gif

Not really.
If you do n/a mods (intake, exhaust...) it will be easier for engine to suck in more air, that's why you have more hp. But more hp=more fuel to burn.

If you do that mods and drive normal, calm, without WOT you should burn less fuel cause engine will suck air easier.

All depends how you drive.
