There are a few years that almost exact matches for our cars in body and design. I think 95 through 2000. I could be wrong though, I am not really up on my Elantras. I think it is the "J2" style you are looking for.

i know the 03 will work..

you do need to take a grinder and take a bit off the casing just so the mount can sit flush.

As far as the 04 and 05.. im not sure... Should be the same though...

Will those years of elantra also work with the RD2 (2001). I have a junkyard in the area that has an elantra with a manual tranny. I'm thinking maybe I'll do the swap and get rid of my damned auto if it'll work...not sure what year the elantra is to be honest...

PS...sorry if I'm hijacking, just tell me to shut up if I am haha

Random, any chance you can delve into your bag of statistics and pull out the final drive ratios on the different year manual elantras?

No hate here, I was going to do the swap to a manual but damn $$$$. I said hell with it.

*Mad Mod Edit* No double posting!*

So the 96-2000 will fit without any grinding or any other type of mods. Just to make sure before I go out and buy one.

Don't double post. Edit your original post.

Any AT or MT from a 96-04 Elantra will work.

Regarding grinding being necessary, it depends on which engine mounts you use/keep. It is a VERY small bit, so don't be concerned. Any dremel or grinder can do it in under 60 seconds.
