What do you think is the most vital to monitor?

There are so many gauges you can buy to monitor different things. Aside from boost (if your car has forced induction), what do you have in your car and why do you feel it is good to have it? Not trying to make my car look like the cockpit of a fighter jet lol.

I say coolant/water temp is the number 1 priority. Then after reading a few threads on here, oil temp is a good thing to really monitor too. Keep in mind this is for an N/A car

if its for an N/A non-tuned car, whats the point of monitoring anything? they will all be around stock since you aren't adding anything to the system.

the tibs water temp would be kind of pointless to monitor N/A with the OEM system (radiator, thermostat, etc.) because its regulated to be w/e temp the thermostat is.. when your thermostat is bad, you will know from the stock gauge..

when boosted, a lot of people monitor oil pressure because that is VERY VERY important, more than temperature.

If you are N/A and have to add some gauges to be 'cool' I would get a clock, volt, vacuum and a NAWS gauge.. JK lol

vacuum might be a good one, as if the car was ever running funny you could see if it was a vacuum issue right away..

voltometer: (pointless unless you have some big stereo and you want to see if you should add more power/cap, etc.)

clock: really? can't believe they make one

AFR on N/A: zero point, just a bunch of innacurate flashy lights. even with a wideband there isn't much point if your not tuned.

oil pressure on stock system: not much point but you will know if your drain plug falls out right before your engine locks up, lol

oil temp on stock system: not much point since your temps wouldn't have any reason to rise

BOOOOOST: trick your friends.. works well until it doesnt go past 0.. LOL

EGT: again, no real reason to monitor it on a non-tuned N/A vehicle.

if your talking about adding a TON of N/A mods (I/H/E, cams, ported head, high compression pistons, aggressive tune) then its a whole different story with what gauges that would be USEFUL to have.

i'd look at oil temp/pressure and AFR. its pretty pointless monitoring EGTs unless you want to monitor each cylinder, which would be far too expensive to be viable imo.

Stock, Or a bolt on car plus maybe some nitrous, the stock gauges your car comes with are more than adequate!!!

You dont need to know anything like AFR for a N/A, simply becuase i sure you would rock the Narrow Band, which like stated is just a circle thing that flashes pretty colors..

Oil pressure could be useful but wouldnt be useful as if it is low you toast and most people use it inline with the turbo, so the know the have oil pressure for the turbo.

I see No gauge that is nescesary for any gauges, I am fully built and boosted and i have a Wideband Aem Uego Gauge, and a EBoost gauge, and a Raptor shift light on the dash!
