Also, what shot was that Foucs running? I'm gonna guess it was only a 30 shot...I mean, with a 16.9 in the 1/4...

Yea a 16.9 in the 1/4 with nitrous sounds pretty weak...

You don't need slicks... you just need to not launch with nitrous. Thats the silliest thing to do in the world. rolleyes.gif The power that the Tib's already short first gear puts down and then you stick a large nitrous shot on top of it... you can't expect to get traction with a FWD on street radials.

definatly need to work on your launch then...

Neutral drops are not only bad for your transmission. They also shock your axles, wheel bearings, and even the engine itself as it goes from free spinning to connected with no damping of the shock load. Worst case scenerio, you could also rip out your engine mounts along with destroying the transmission, axles, and wheel bearings.

If you are talking about what I think you are, me and zoned had this discussion. That switch supadupa is talking about isnt on the RD2 as far as I know.

Here is a pic of the RD1, notice the switch to the right of the shifter

Here is a pic of an RD2 without that switch

brake torquing does nothing to your transmission (except heat up the fluid as random said.)
neutral dropping is bad.

for the best times with an automatic tib, use the launch technique that random suggested and keep your ECT on power and your overdrive switch off. also, sport-shifting (L - 2 - D) is bad for your tranny and isn't any faster than letting your tranny shift itself.

Like randon and couple other people said:

Neutral drop is very bad! Don't do it!
Power braking is fine!

Shifting auto will do no good. You will just loose yourself and will possible be hitting redline. Just put it into drive.

Your stock auto tib should be somewhere in mid 17s. You will not beat your buddy.

Guys please stay on topic smile.gif

ok, thanks, i will not do that drop from neutral, and i guess i dont have ECT, ( i have a RD2 ), and what I saw, that switch only has the RD1.

i will try to go to try another time before I buy the nitrous in my car to see what time can I make with this new style to lanch.
