Yeah..that's right. Got the good stuff. Ordered it a few days ago. Every time I shift from 1st into 2nd at high RPM's, I get that nice grinding noise. I know it's not the clutch, because it holds very well in any other gear. And the noise only happens once I hit 5K and up in forst gear only, on the tach. So after talking with some people and doing some research, the best thing they said to get was some Redline tranny fluid and some good clutch fluid. I hope it stops the issues because it's a pain in the ass having people give me a weird look, as if I don't know how to drive, when I shift that high. :? Oh well. Anyone else use the Redline fluid? Any thoughts on it? I just hope my syncro's are not really fücked and that's what's causing the issue. They're not cheap to replace. :x 02.gif

Where did you order it from? I only found one place online that had it, Jegs. How much did it cost you?

Redline is some of the best stuff you can get. I swear by it with my Italian cars (when I can find it)

Is that Lucas Oil Stabilizer any good? They have that stuff for sale at the local Auto store.

From what I've heard...it works good. Can't wait until it comes in. I've never changed clutch or tranny fluid before though. A friend of mine and I are gonna do it. Hopefully it works out ok. :?

Clutch fluid I think works a lot like bleeding out your brakes.. Just push the clutch in, loosen the nipple, and then tighten it and start over again. Tranny fluid is VERY easy.. drain it out the plug in the bottom... there is a plug on the side of the tranny that you slip a hose into.. and start pouring until fluid comes up to the threads on that hole...

Just make sure you put the plug in the bottom hole first though.

IMHO 1 pint of Lucas Oil Stablizer added to 2 Quarts of Redline MT90 made a world of difference in shifting smoothness over the stock gear oil.
Go to www.redlineoils.com. They have a dealer lookup, also do an internet search, there are MANY places that sell redline oils/products.

Y'know, I have that EXACT same problem with my 2000 Tib when I shift from 1st to 2nd above 3,300 RMP. I took my car into Hyundai and they said it was my shifting that was causing the problem and I wasn't shifting properly... well keeping the clutch in as far as she'll go and trying to bring my shifter down doesn't seem to be the problem as far as I'm concerned. One guy suggested it's the syncros but that was ruled out as well.

Oh well.

How many miles do you guys have on your trannys? Mine has 50,000 (new tranny at 30,00 due to a little self machining problem) and it still shifts as nice as the day it was new.
