Good job, Decker. I've done two BIM's (mine and Ropeman100's) and those underneath bolts are always a pita. They do make a case for impact tools. lacking that, I usually use my big-a$$ torque wrench and a rubber mallet I call "the motivator"

For those of you attempting this, it's not bad at all, and those pics would have helped me greatly smile.gif However, I've done this once without extenders and U-joints for the socket, and then once with. They are a must. Some of those interior IM nuts are impossible to get without them (to tell you the truth, I don't remember how I did it without them).

I managed to do it without a U-joint, though I damn near threw my elbow out a couple times trying to push/pull while so contorted. It's certainly not easy when you can't see what you're doing, but I guess I have some good experience fumbling around in the dark. wink

 

I am confused as to why you guys had so much trouble with bolts coming off. I had no problems on mine. Did you unbolt the bracket for the manifold, or the manifold itself? I unbolted the manifold from the bracket below it and it was easy. If that's what you are doing, then I dunno. Maybe mine wasn't too corroded.

 

Laugh.. Rub it in.. rub it in..... If only you could have been here to try taking mine off.. Holy crap that sucker was on there..

 

I had a hard time with the bolts on the IM Brace as well. I swear those suckers were torqued on to about 100 Ft. Lbs. Maybe it's just the bad angle/little clearance between those bolts and the firewall...but yeah, I had a problem with them too.

 

Oh my god!! Those bolts felt likle they were welded on!

I almost cut the damn manifold brace off.
