Warranty??
Does anyone know exactly what most dealerships will tolerate as far as engine and body mod's without completely voiding the warranty on the car? Im nervous because I have to take my car in tomarrow (light bulbs keep going out!?!) and I saw somewhere that if you have a CAI or catback exhaust, your warranty will be void...?

My new warranty says "anything" so that means no exhaust, no CAI... but when I had my cavalier. I was allowed a CAI and exhaust, and that was it. Read over your warranty. It's detailed in there what you can and cannot do. So find your warranty paper and start reading. wink.gif

It depends more on your dealer than what the warranty says on paper.
Call your dealer and ask to talk to your service manager. See what he has to say. Just make sure you don't use your real name or year/model...*grin*
Some dealers are cool, some are a-holes. Also, ask other forum members in your area if any of the dealerships are cool. Use your regional forum for that.

Dennis Hyundai in Columbus. They had no problem with my Eibach drop, front & rear strut, Air Filter w/Heat shield and full Cat-Back 2.5" exhaust system. They also liked my vinyl graphics, clear corners, and Euro tails. They said no problem to working on it. According to them they only don't warranty the aftermarket parts. For example their obviously not going to fix my strut bars if they break but if my motor blows they'll repair it.

you guys have to be in south fla....they dont give a sh** about anything maybe its because im friends with the senior service technition. it pays to have friends in high places huh.

Yes, the Law states that they must honor the warranty, but how many of you have the $$$ to sue hyundai to cover the warranty while your car is down for the count?
That is why you try to work with them first and when all else fails, it is still cheaper to pay to get the car repaired yourself rather than to try to sue hyundai. Just ask RavDav about his warranty after he did his Targa Top Conversion....
