Default Using synthetic oil in the winter

Time for an oil change. Ive always used synthetic but I just heard yesterday from a mechanic that its not good to use synthetic oil in the winter when its really cold because it doesnt keep its viscosity when the temps get below freezing. If thats the case then what oil should I use during the winter months?

I run a solid 40 weight oil all year around, regaurdless i run a non detergented oil so there is no 20-40... which the 20 would be the detergent in teh oil, i run just a soild 40 wt made by Brad Penn Racing. It has done wonders and as I can tell when it is really cold out, it does get rather thick, but i always let my car get to operating temps before driving any where!

It is fine to run synthetic in the winter.

If you drive her hard make sure to change out the headlight fluid often too. At least once between oil changes

I always like to keep my blinker fluid all the way full, that way i have silent blinkers and dont have to hear that shitty Tinking, when turning!
