I wanan do an oil change to my car, problem is, never done one before. OK... I do have ramps for the car and currently the car is sitting on them...Now what do i do??... how do i drain the oil (like what are the steps), and how do i replace the oil filter. I know everyone's gonna say take it to the dealer or a mechanic... ya i know... but i wanna start doin some of my own work to the car... i wanna learn how to do it my self..

Step 1) Remove car from ramps and go to AutoZone, NAPA, Checker, or whatever your local auto parts supplier may be called and purchase a maintenance manual for your vehicle. Preferably Haynes or Chiltons. Different people prefer one or the other. If the manual is not shrinkwrapped, flip through both and see which one you think you would have an easier time following. This should not cost you more than $30 and no car owner should be without one. Unless, of course, you like paying someone else to do the work on your car. Most anything you can do yourself. Some jobs do require a professional with the proper tools and training.

Step 2) Read chapter on changing oil.

Step3) Drive car back onto ramps.

Step 4) Change oil.

Step 5) Drink victory beer. Nothing makes you feel better than conquering that amazing marval we call automobiles!

Oh, that is not a problem at all. If you are a serious beer drinker/shadetree mechanic, then you should have 11 beers left. Plenty for the victories to come!
