Default TP sensor adjustment

Since installing my new CAI. The dam car wants to die. It idles fine when I start it. But if I push the gas it's like it sucks in to much air chokes itself and dies. I have to punch it and hope that it get over the initial shock to get me moving. Once moving I have no problem at all. Just if I have to stop, then it will dip low then rev a little high like it was cold. Sometimes it will dip and rev and dip and rev, etc.... I've adjusted the idle screw on the throttle body to increase the idle rev speed but I figured I didn't need to adjust it seeing how it idled fine on initial start. I had the same kind of issues with my Mazda MX-6 and I adjusted the TPS and it stopped causing these symptoms. I know I can adjust the TPS to get the car to idle correctly but I don't know what the proper voltage to set it and what jumpers I need to bridge like on my mazda. I've searched the forum to find similiar instances but with no luck of finding a walkthrough on how to do this. Any body have a little know how they can rub off on me?

I've never heard of adjusting the TPS on our cars. Did you reset your ECU after the installation?

Funny thing is if I put the stock air box and tubing back on it works fine.
No complaints from the car. Just with the new CAI
I reset the ECU everytime I change it.. still no help.

Sorry man, this isn't your TPS, it sounds like you put your MAF back on backwards.

1. Get us a pic of your engine bay as it sits right now, close up on the MAF.

2. Check your MAF, make sure the ARROW that is molded on it is pointing towards the Throttle body.

3. Check your MAF like #2.

4. Do #3.

See what I'm getting at?

Go check it real quick bro.

See the Arrow on the plastic above my index finger?

It's on there the right way... I just checked it... Arrow pointing towards the Throttle body.
Everything seems perfect, car starts and idles fine. When I rev the engine it sounds like it sucks in real hard and the RPM's dip low then go high.
I'll try to take some pics. I have to find a digital camera. Then maybe more hints might be on whats going on.

You didn't get liquids on your MAF internals did you? How about the honeycomb on it? It's still there right?

Hmm...

Try looking at these items.

1. Is your IAT sensor in the hole in the CAI?

2. What brand is the CAI?

3. Check all of the couplers and make sure they are ALL the way on and tight.

4. Did the CAI come with the CORNER/ELBOW tube? If so, did you hook up both the vaccum lines up to it?

Do you still feel a gain in power with the CAI, or is it the same/less power than before? If you lost power... I would say an air leak somewhere, probably on those cheap couplers if you didn't get an AEM.

If it did come with the elbow like Redz said, check to make sure the lines are hooked up.

Here's some pics.

Everything is tight and I do feel the power gain, but it's like it winds up.
It's just that initial push forward to get me moving that it gulps and almost dies.
