Default Tips on reinstalling head?

Just got my head back from the machinest, i know i need a new head gasket but he said i have to replace all the gaskets (intake/exhaust), is that really necessary? Any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

I've reused my exhaust gasket with no problems.

You should replace any metal gaskets since they're designed to crush when you torque down the bolts. However, failure due to reuse is pretty rare.

What were you having done? Be sure your head is clear of metal bits and scraps before you reinstall. wink.gif

make sure you put the head gasket on right, and use new head bolts. its easier to replace the gaskets now while its all apart than find out after that it's leaking and have to take it apart again.

Use the proper torque on the head bolts and you'll need a torque angle tool as well
