My car has 103,000 miles on it and i want to replace the timing belt. I was looking at this kit on ebay form Kspec
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/KDM-Hyundai...sspagenameZWD1V
I was justt wondering if this is a good kit to buy?? Or are there other kits out there that are reasonable priced and that will fit??
P.s I'm goin to have a shop put it on 4 me
Thanks
Matt

I agree. Kspec has gone to such shit that they have now opened up a second site, under a different name, to try to get rid of their bad reputation they've fostered over the past year.
They are getting shadier by the minute, I wouldn't order from them.

SFR has the same kit, same price. Either way it's all OEM parts, so I don't think there would be a problem (unless Kspec is flaky as REDZ and Pat pointed out).
SFR timing belt package
I imagine this pricetag ($200) is cheaper than your local Hyundai dealer for the same parts. Can anyone verify that?

They are. 1/2 of the time you'll get your item in really quick, the other 1/2 you are waiting for months with no email contact.
I understand international shipping, but I worked for Kspec, so I know how they are.
As for SFR, yeah, it's all OEM parts, but Patrizzle had an issue with his kit from Kspec. Maybe it was a bad timing belt, maybe it was a bad install, who knows, but it really screwed him over.

not only was the timing belt faulty from kspec (that I got), but the idler pulley did not spin (had to re-use old one) and the new water pump was for the later model tiburons. The first year RD's use a water pump pulley with a seperate dimple that the pump and pulley rest agaisnt. The later model RD's use a pulley that as a dimple EXTENSION that rests agaisnt the pump. (that's the best way I can explian it..)
So I couldn't use the new water pump because my pulley wouldn't fit onto it...
It was all in all a big clusterfvck mess...
They were also supposed to NOT charge me for the AC belts (I don't have AC) and they did... (even though it was not included)
The taillight lenses I got with the kit were damaged because they don't know how to package shit together...
the only thing I fcked up (install-wise) was striping the hole in the head the tensioner bolt goes into. But it was properly fixed.
ugh. memories...

Your situation was the first straw that broke the camels back for me. They wouldn't agree to even look at anything.
Now I'm wondering if they just sent you a beta 2 kit, with bad parts. It's seeming to me that they talked bad about a BUNCH of companies parts, because they couldn't get them.
BTW, did you know this new guy that does their Customer Service is actually still David? And, as I had thought before, David = Taekmin.
Shady. I'm glad I got out when I did. Kspec = David and one mechanic.

If you think I'm lying, do a Whois on kspec.com and kdmparts.com
Funny thing is some OTHER Hyundai sites say it's okay.
