I replaced the crank flange with one in better condition, not all beat up, and the issue persists.
I tried different tensions, where the allen key hole is at 6 o'clock along with roughly 5 o'clock, and it still is walking. If I go any looser, say around 7 o'clock, there is too much slack.
I'm awaiting my tension tester to get here tomorrow so I can see how far off I am.

I have not tried flipping the belt. Another thing to mention is my elantra, which has the same belt, wobbles as well (not as bad) but it's a Gates belt which is known for good parts.
Only other things I can try is swapping the crank gear or trying an oem belt. Mind you this didn't happen until the belt was changed.

I'd go with an oem belt. Did you notice any problems with your old belt? I know you said you've tried 2 Gates belts. Wouldn't be the first time 2 new parts in a row are defective. Happened to me with 2 brand new alternators. 3rd one finally worked correctly!
Thats why I asked if you had your old oem belt. I'd put that on and see if it walks on ya. Thats a mute point now though if you've already tossed it. Still, I'd try an oem belt. Good idea flipping it around, although I thought timing belts were suppose to go on in only one direction.

The last belt I had on there was a generic parts store one and had zero issues with it. I'm going to work on it today and see where that gets me.

So picked up an oem belt today and it is a Gates made one but a different model. One I currently have is oe premium version and oem one is labeled as HTD which seems to be heavy duty.
Also, I did find out that the brand new tensioner has bearing play in it so that's not going to work. On a side note, I noticed the belt seems to have a slight twist when coming off of the tensioner which might give it the walking motion. I threw the stock tensioner on and the slight twist is still there. At this point I'm not sure if that's normal or not.
Tomorrow I'll pick up another tensioner and try that again. I have the timing covers off for now and it looks the belt is dead even on both sides so I'll keep everyone posted on the results.
