I have 60,000 miles on my 01 Tib and I heard the timing belt should be changed around then. I was wondering how difficult changing it is?
How much will it cost if taken to a shop? I am in school right now so i can't call places. Thanks

If you have never done it... dont do it yourself. Find someone who has done it and have them show you. Your timing is one thing you dont want to mess up. It costs about $200 to have them chaged.

Ok thanks. I will have to see if any shops do that around here. If not maybe my friend with a DSM can do it, and i can watch.

Yep, it's better to be safe then sorry. You don't want that thing to bust while you're driving. You'll end up paying alot more.

Default turbo problems?

Man, I was gonna' go have mine done today because I got the card from the Class-Action yesterday...

They quoted me almost $300 at a delership!!! Then I asked about a 90k service? Almost as much!

Then I told the guy on the phone that I would rather take a 5hit on his hood.

What are you guys getting quoted for this belt, plus labor?

I just had mine done a couple of months ago. Cost $200+ to get it fixed.
