Default throttle body question?

I am interested in purchasing a throttle body for my 2001 elantra. My question is, what is the difference between the barney(59-61mm)throttle body that SR offers, and the Besta Big bore(60-63mm)that HDKautosport offers. Is the extra 2mm from the Besta gonna matter that much? I have a 2001 elantra without cruise control. Which Throttle body would be the best with a stock IM, or which would work best if I was to bore out my IM?

The "best" TB for you is rather subjective.

No, 2mm is not going to make a HUGE difference in performance, but it will make "a" difference.

The reworked stock units are 58mm, but you have to either have a spare TB, or do without your car while yours is reworked.

Of the two Shark Racing Units, one looks stock, the other looks more "show". Go with whichever one you think would look/work best for your application.

Also, keep in mind, that the Intake Manifold opening will have to be bored out to match the larger throttle body in order for any gains to be seen/noticed.

Is either throttle body tapered? If so, I'd go with the tapered one. Better air velocity, will help more with your low end torque. Which is more neck snapping fun

They are all tapered. The "mm" measurement is taken at the narrowest point in the taper.

Wow you guys have got some sweet choices in throttle bodies. One of our older brands was wasn't tapered, some people lost some low end torque. They were much more satisfied with the tapered yet smaller tb.
