well, i just had a VHR clutch installed in my car along with a salvage tranny from a 00 elantra. i've put about 100 miles on it and tried to treat it as nice as i can, but whenever the car is in neutral and i'm not touching the pedal, there's this weird humming/knocking sound that sounds like it's coming from the clutch/tranny. it's not REALLY loud, but it is definitely noticeable. the sound disappears when i push the clutch in (i'm not sure if it does it while driving, road noise is a little loud around here). i'm just wondering if this is normal (i wouldn't think so, it sounds pretty ugly). any ideas?

sounds to me like a bad bearing somewhere If the clutch was brand new i would say a bearing in the tranny just from what i have heard on some trannys going bad they knock with no clutch engadged and humm when the clutch is engadged.

Defently a bad Release bearing thats causing the noise.I had major issues with release bearings making noise in the past everytime i installed a new performance clutch.
If its a sound you can live with then leave OR repalce it will a new one BUT keep in mind Hyundais always had problems with the bearings making noises...
I was lucky with my VHR clutch kit i installed bearing si get no more nosies smile.gif

now release bearing = TO bearing? and also, would a bad release bearing effect the driveability of the clutch, cuz sometimes as i'm releasing the pedal, right before i let my foot off the clutch the whole car shakes really badly....but then again, maybe i'm just an idiot who can't drive the new clutch >_>
