Hey guys.
I just wanted to know if i need to adjust or not.

I was cleaning my Cone Airfilter and found the following:
The butterfly wheel on my System upgrade TB is fully closed(Controlled by a Screw on the TB)
My car idles perfect though..

What bothers me is that i know if you disconnect your IAC your car should switch off.
Mine just idles lower and doesnt go off.
The throttle is fully closed so i want to make the engine turn off when the IAC is unplugged(Normal)

I also have to mention i have ported my intake manifold.
Also after cleaning the air filter with detergent do you have to re-oil it?
Or can it just be used?

Thanks.

TB plate should normally be fully closed, the IAC takes care of the idle air

and no, just disconnecting the IAC plug won't block all airflow

re oiling the filter depends if it needs to be oiled...

I got a AEM dryflow filter...so I don't need to oil it after cleaning...

When you disconnect the IAC it doesn't just close, it stays in it's last position (but with vacuum from the manifold the air probably moves it a bit).

Welcome back.

If the car is idling fine, there is no reason to adjust the idle adjust screw.

inside the bore of the TB there is a hole to let air through even if the butterfly is closed completely. on a beta 1 model tb it is straight up at 12 o'clock. on beta 2 tb's it is like 10 o'clock.

Thanks for the welcome back.

Well then i guess im just gonna leave it like that.
I just thought it should be slightly open thats why it has the idle-screw.

Do you get special oil, to oil the filter MWOOD?

Yes... I know MWOOD.
But i think mine would need oiling in order to filter better.
So does anyone know what kind of oil is used?

I can get a new cone filter for $12.
Its a no name but i thinks it should do the job..
Any problems with cheaper cone filters?

Don't oil a filter thats not ment to be oiled....your maf will hate you

Unless your a MAP based spec. Even then, dont oil a filter thats not ment to be oiled.

APC filters which are generic at Advance Auto, Napa...etc work just fine, i had one on my injen intake for a while until i swapped the cai with an aem.
