Cars temp gauge in the dash stopped showing the fact the car was heating up.

My guess is its the sensor...

Right?

I know its not a hose, pump, or thermostat or I would have a leak in the cooling system, water running from around the pulleys, or the car would be burning up.

Only other thing I though up was the needle came off the... thingy lol. Doubt that though.

Check to make sure the sensor wire did not come disconnected or that it did not break. It is the sensor forward of the thermostat.

how far up did it go? check your radiator fluid. i don't know any other ways to check the system really other than hooking a scantool up and checking the actual radiator fluid/engine component temperatures from there.

Try turning the AC on and see if that changes anything. I doubt the gauges are wrong.

It could also be a clogged radiator. ^and yea it could be a bad thermostat. Scantool best bet.

i said it doesnt show that the car is heating up, not that its overheating. its running fine, the dash just doesnt display the cars current condition(atleast not the water heat gauge).

you said its the first one after the thermo housing correct? so even if the thermo stuck it would show the car over heating...

Yeah, only if your sensor is bad, gauge is bad, or the wire is broken in betwen will it not work. Personally I had a problem with a lose wire that caused the gauge to be intermittent.
