Ok I called Rick's guy Andrew who my mechanic had already spoke to by Rick's request. The install is correct. Something is wrong with the product and it seems that Rick is giving me some kind of run around on not sending a replacement or refund. So even if I had some where to work on it and someone to help me, the clutch assembly is the problem. I was with the mechanic today with a print out of everything on the internet I could find from you guys here, emails from friends and from the boards on NT. The install is correct. But thanks for all your help but it's whatever was shipped to me weather it's the wrong clutch/flywheel boxed incorrectly or if it's defective. But thanks again for all the suggestions.

What did he say the specific problem was?

And I do think that if it is indeed the product, Rick should be more than happy to get things straightened out (as long as the defect was not caused by the install).

Something with the machining of the flywheel...It's an 1/8 of an inch too thin.

I would lay 10 to 1 odds he installed it wrong. How much do you want to bet he did NOT use that 1/8" spacer that came with the flywheel?

It's on there, I watched. Without it it's fine. Once the spacer is put in it's off. Trust me as of today, the install was checked 3 times. Everything is going in the right direction, the bearing was installed correctly and everything went back together right, nothing was forced but still not working.

I remember you asking that and you never did get an answer. I forgot about the spacer in these kits. Try it without the spacer.

Well, if it was the spacer issue, I would assume that Ricks mechanic would have already told the guy to remove the spacer... mabe not though.

Yes, the spacer is needed. We're going from a dual mass flywheel pull type clutch to a single. The purpose of the dual mass is to transfer much of the force produced by engagement to the flywheel before it hits the engine thus reducing clatter and jutter hence why when you install this type clutch there tends to be more noise and jutter. The spacer is definately needed to complete the conversion.
