SO i got my 98 tib used, it didnt come with the owners manual or any documentation, Anyways this is the dumbest question anyone will ever ask on here probally but i dont care i did a google search and my searches suck.. SO Whats the proper gap for spark plugs? I have a 98 2.0 dohc.... Im also in canada if it matters lol.


Dont flame me for not knowing the answer, ive only ever owned JEEPS before so this is new to me.

I don't even think the gap specs are IN the owner's manual. If you don't have a shop manual you can go to NGK's website and enter your vehicle information. They have all the stock specs along with NGK part #s loaded to their site..

In my RD2 the gap is mentioned in the plaques on the hood.

 

Put in G-power (NGK's Platinum), you don't gap them or the Iridium.

Every plug needs to have its gap checked prior to installation, no matter what the manufacturer says about it.

It is in the owner's manual (at least for rd2). 0.039 - 0.043 in (1.0 - 1.1 mm)

 

For all of the B 1.8/2.0. 1mm. I use the 0.040 wire gage and it works fine.
