Sound of Exhaust headers

I would expect the 4-2-1 headers to actually produce slightly less noise than their 4-1 bretherin. Being that I have a 4-1 header from HVE, I do know the exhaust suddenly jumped about 20db (well, maybe not that loud wink.gif ) when I installed the entire exhaust.
A medium-sized (maybe 18" or larger) glasspack should quiet it down to "humane" levels. I've ended up with a 24" glasspack and it is actually very quiet now.

I just had the 4-2-1 headers installed, and I can tell you that it is LLLLLOUUUUUUUDDDDDDDD, for those that have heard the KORE cat-back, you know how that sounds, now it is multiplied x's 2...
I will try and get a new movie with the sound...

HEy man dont you like the noise?IF you hear my tibby you will be deaf afterwards.The sound is like a formula 1 car.The best thing to a mod car is the sound!!!Dont limit the noise.Its your pride.If you want only polite cars get yourself a boring VW GOlf GTI to satisfy you without noise and without even being noticed!Whats the matter with you?DOnt you have the racing feeling tha beta motor offers you!?

Turboman...you have to realize that here in the states, we have noise ordinance laws. Alot of times police will pull someone over if they have a noisy exhaust..after market or not. So I can see why someone would want to keep things quiet.

trust me man, I personally love it, all my buds love it and my girl loves it... but COPS will not, I've been passed 3 times by them already, but that's cause I let off the pedal, but when I punch it oh my god... you can hear it a mile away...

So far the cops haven't pulled me over for squealing my tires, white signals, no front plate, and cranking my bass with the windows down. Hopefully the exhaust won't get me pulled over. My girl is actually the one who wants the loud exhaust and clear tails (more illegalness). I can't wait to get the full SR stainless steel exhaust line.
BATLORD...Defenitely get some sound clips up. That's what originally persuaded me to buy the Weapon-R Intake. That and my girl liked the way it looked and wanted to buy it for me in exchange for jewerlry. Really knows the way to a man's heart...through his engine!

Hi my friend i used to have 4-2-1 headers because in my opinion its the best solution for a daily driven car.If you put the 4-2-1 you have better acceleration from the low rpms!!With 4-1 its better at the top end.Currently i have special headers for my turbine(T 35 Garett),and the rest of the exhaust is the final muffler,and two other small boxes(I dont know the exact word in english)which are all stainless steel an handmade.My performance is 270hp,0-60mph in 6.7sec final speed around 235-240 in the speedometer.C U Turboman,F**K the cops and do what you like in your car!!!!We only have one life to live.And for now my life is my tibby and the girls that sit at my sparco seat next to me!!!
