Alright heres the problem. Lately I can feel a power loss in my car. not a huge loss, but definately noticeable. the engine has started to have kind of a whine to it. when i open up the hood while its running, i can here something that sounds like a leak but i cant pinpoint the location. im thinking this has something to do with the intake or maybe a hose somewhere has a leak but i dont know a whole lot about our engines. im just wondering where i should be looking to figure out whats wrong. thanks

I have CAI. And when my engine is runing there is sucking sound (from the air that goes into air filter). When I open throttle quickly for a moment at idle RPM this sound becomes loud. If you have the same - it's OK.

Also check all hoses from air filter to intake manifold.

Definitely sounds like a leak, probably from around the Intake manifold. Have you messed with your intake track lately? I would take some spray and spray around the IM until you hear the engine tone change. Then you found your leak.

if you have a stock airfilter box check to make sure the filters clean, i remember before i got my CAI that the car started stalling and realy loosing power when the filter was all dirty, if its realy black and has dust and dirt on it u can wash it (YES THATS RIGHT STOCK FILTERS IN TIBS ARE WASHABLE!!!(at least mine was))

its not one of the K&N cone filters, the stock filter i had, at least i think its stock cuz i found it in the airbox lol, umm it was one of those normal like squere types and it said "Do not dispose of filter. This Filter is washable" or something like that, is till have that filter and the original airbox somewhere, i was suprised when i first saw it cuz those types of filters are always like thrown out when they are dirty.
