Smoke Vacuum Leak Test
Hey. Does anyone know of a cheap smoke vacuum leak tester? I think I have a vacuum leak and this seems to be the most accurate way of testing. Let me know. Thanks!

Ehh, I'd just use the brake cleaner method.
Get a rag, a can of brake cleaner with the tube.
Start the car, get near the first suspect leak area, and put the rag near it, spray the cleaner onto the rag so the spray passes by the suspect leak.
if the engine idles up, you found a leak.

ok because I just replaced the o2 sensor cuz the wires were cut and now it idles rough around 1000. then it slowly drops to like 700 and bogs really bad. right before it dies it shoots up to like 2000 then slowly back down to 1000 and starts all over again.
if its not doing that, it will stay at 700 really rough and the check engine light flashes slowly.
im guessing its a vacuum leak ... sad.gif

My guess would be your TPS/IAC/MAF.
Get a few pics of your setup.
Oh, and you might want to let us know what exactly was cut on the old O2, and what you replaced it with. Most of the o2 sensors out there that are sold for us "universally" style, have 2 wires wrong.

how do u check if these sensors are bad?
Well, I tried extending the o2 wires and they tore apart where I soldered them together. So, I bought a vehicle specific o2 sensor off ebay that had the 4 wires with the correct plug on the end.
