Default slip?

every once in awhile (about once every 3 weeks-month) i will turn the car on and when i shift into Drive it will "clunk" into gear realllly hard, and then it will never downshift, nor will it upshift into overdrive, it like gets stuck. to fix the problem, all i have to do is pull over and turn the ignition off then back on again and it's fine. however, constantly the car feels like its a manual during take-off (from a stop)..it will sort of wind up real slowly then kind of jump into second gea (i kind of exaggerated this, it really isn't that noticeable)..just to me because it is my daily driver. it has 112k miles.

It may just be old and worn down. We all know the suckiness of Hyundai autos... I dunno. I'm sure an A/T person will come along and answer what inner parts could be going dead. All 3 of my cars are M/T.

kind of hard to say...I know i had a problem with that also before replacing my transmission 5 months ago and 4000 miles ago. I know the only things that were wrong with mine were my selenoids and my torqye converter...I mean it could be anything though.

at 112k, youre tranny is on its last leg. could be the torque converter though, as that is what controls the engine and tranny ummm..."interface" i guess.
