I'm just a bit taller and have my clutch about the same.
If the Cupholder is a must, I can see your point, I don't use mine like ever, because nothing fits in it. I hold my drinks tween da legs.
Did you try adjusting the cables?

Yeah, it made it a bit better but still not all the way perfect. My knuckles barely hit it, but I think it would be enough to spill hot coffee everywhere. It seems rather silly for me to worry about a cupholder, but I'm just not ready to sacrifice the function of it.
EDIT: I also tried raising the shifter.......it looks gay that way, and at it's highest point made me reach a little for it while it was in 1st, 3rd and 5th.

There ARE plenty of aftermarket Cupholders out there.

Nah, just kidding.
I stopped using mine because it won't hold much, and my OEM stereo was really hard to push the buttons because the jackass before me had got into an accident with a TacoBell cup in that f***er.
